Today, on April 4, at 14:01 (Moscow time), the launch vehicle "Soyuz-2.1a" with the "Progress MS-11"cargo spacecraft successfully launched from site № 31 of the Baikonur cosmodrome. The automatic docking of the ship with the docking station of the ISS is scheduled at 17:25 (Moscow time). "Progress MS-11" will deliver to the ISS over 2.5 tons of various cargoes: more than 1.4 tons of dry cargo, 900 kg of fuel, 420 kg of water in the tanks, as well as 47 kg of compressed air and oxygen. In the packing of the cargo compartment - scientific equipment, components for the life support system, as well as containers with food products, clothing, medicines and personal care products for crew members.

The "Soyuz-ST-B" launch vehicle with Fregat-MT upper stage and four European O3b satellites was rolled out and installed on the launch complex of Guiana Space Center on April 1. On the pre-launch days are also scheduled the autonomous checks of the "Fregat-MT" upper stage and the "Soyuz-ST-B" launch vehicle, control and final tests, as well as checking of the starting readiness of the upper stage. Launch is scheduled for April 4 at 19:30 (Moscow time).

Today, on April 1, the "Soyuz-2.1a" rocket with a "Progress MS-11" cargo spaceship was rolled out from the Assembly and Testing Building and installed at the launch pad № 31 of the Baikonur cosmodrome. The RSC "Energia" specialists and other enterprises of Roscosmos performing pre-launch technological operations at the launch complex. The launch of the "Progress MS-11" cargo spacecraft from the Baikonur cosmodrome is scheduled for April 4, 2019.

On March 31, the general assembly of the "Soyuz-2.1a" launch vehicle with the "Progress MS-11" cargo spaceship was completed. Representatives of the Technical Management and the State Commission issued a document on readiness for the roll out and installation of the launch vehicle at the launch pad № 31. The roll out will take place tomorrow, on April 1. The launch of the "Progress MS-11" spacecraft is scheduled for 14:01 (Moscow time) on April 4.

Today, in accordance with the schedule, RSC "Energia" specialists performed a design inspection of the ship and technological operations of rolling the head fairing of the launch vehicle "Soyuz-2.1a". Today, on March 28, RSC "Energia" specialists at the Baikonur cosmodrome successfully completed technological operations for assembly of the "Progress MS-11" cargo spacecraft with the transfer compartment. According to the schedule of preparational works, by the end of this week the following works will be performed: ship inspection, rolling of the head fairing, transporting of the head part of the "Progress MS-11" spacecraft to the Assembly and Testing building of the launch vehicle for a general assembly with the "Soyuz 2.1a" rocket , the general assembly, the meeting of the technical management and the State Commission on the readiness of the space rocket and the launch pad for launch. The launch of the "Progress MS-11" cargo spacecraft by the "Soyuz-2.1a" launch vehicle from the Baikonur cosmodrome is scheduled for April 4, 2019.

On this day in 1968, a MiG-15 UTI fighter crashed near the village of Novoselovo, Vladimir region, Russia, killing Yuri Gagarin and Vladimir Seregin. Traditionally, on the Day of Memory of Gagarin and Seregin, on March 27, family members, cosmonauts, veterans and Center staff take part in a number of events.

At the Baikonur cosmodrome preparational works continues for the launch of the "Soyuz-2.1a" launch vehicle with the "Progress MS-11" cargo spacecraft. The operations of refueling the "Progress MS-11" with fuel components and compressed gases were successfully performed by RSC "Energia" specialists on March 20 and 21. On March 18, 1965, at 10 am (Moscow time), the "Voskhod-2" spacecraft with a crew (Pavel Belyaev and Alexey Leonov) was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome. At 11:35 am Alexey Leonov was the first in the world to leave the ship and made a step in to open space. Alexey Leonov's name is forever included in the history of world space exploration. The spacewalk, made by him, was, is and will be a significant milestone in the history of the conquest of the open space.
