Roskosmos cosmonauts Oleg Artemiev and Sergei Prokopiev on August 15, 2018 will make an exit to open space to conduct routine maintenance of the International Space Station (ISS), the installation of scientific equipment and experiments. Oleg Artemyev and Sergei Prokopyev will perform their way out of the orbital station in the spacesuit of the new generation Orlan-MKS. For Oleg Artemyev, this is the third spacewalk, Sergei Prokopiev goes beyond the International Space Station for the first time.

Specialists of RSC Energia launched a new series of experiments to evaluate the man-machine interface of "Federation" spaceship.   Information management formats are what is displayed on the cosmonaut's console: a pictorial representation of on-board systems, processes and flight modes, as well as signaling and commands that the crew can issue. In the plans of specialists - working out all modes of the ship's flight: from launching to docking and transition to the flight path to the Moon.

On August 2, 2018 in the Star City was a meeting ceremony of the 54 / 55th long ISS expedition crew, that includes Roscosmos cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, NASA astronaut Scott Tingle and JAXA astronaut Norishige Kanai. According to the tradition, the crew, as well as the leadership of Roskosmos, the Cosmonaut Training Center, rocket and space industry enterprises and representatives of foreign space agencies laid flowers at the monument to Yuri Gagarin. Roskosmos General Director Dmitry Rogozin awarded Anton Shkaplerov with the medal of Academic Korolev, and Scott Tingle and Norishige Kanai - with medals "Space without Borders".

On July 27 a schedule for the creation of a single integrated engine building structure on the base of NPO "Energomash" has been agreed upon and signed. Dmitry Rogozin visited NPO "Energomash", where together with the company's management made a by-pass of the production facilities. He noted the high level of production culture, and also discussed the possibilities of increasing the reliability of rocket and space technology.

On July 25, 1984 Svetlana Savitskaya became the first woman of the Earth, who made an exit into the open space. Svetlana Savitskaya also became the first woman to make two space flights. This spacewalk of Svetlana Savitskaya has become a historic one for cosmonautics, continuing a whole series of human victories over outer space.

July 18, 2018

Today, July 17, 2018, "Roskosmos" State Corporation has signed a state contract with RSC "Energia" for the creation of a new-generation middle class space rocket complex with a "Soyuz-5" carrier rocket. The document, in the presence of the General Director of "Roskosmos" Dmitry Rogozin was signed by Nikolay Sevastyanov, First Deputy of General Director of the State Corporation "Roskosmos" and General Director of RSC "Energia" Sergey Romanov. These works of RSC "Energia" should be carried out in cooperation with enterprises, that are part of the "Roskosmos" state corporation.

The Baikonur cosmodrome is preparing for the launch of the "Soyuz MS-10" spacecraft. On July 13, the spacecraft was delivered to a vacuum chamber, where for several days it will be tested for tightness. In the expedition to the International Space Station will depart a crew of a Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexei Ovchinin and NASA astronaut Nick Hague.

On 10 July 2018, at 4:31AM Moscow time, "Progress MS-09" cargo spacecraft has successfully docked the International Space Station. The flying time from the moment of spacecraft’s start to the moment of its docking to the orbital station equalled 3 hours and 40 minutes. "Progress MS-09" cargo spacecraft delivered to the International Space Station over two tons of cargo, including fuel, air, equipment for maintaining the station in workin order, care packages for the astronauts and crew life support instruments.

July 2, 2018

On July 2, 2018 a series of training sessions on the actions after landing of the spacecraft on the water surface starts and will last until July 20, 2018. Six crews will participate in the "water survival", including seven Russian cosmonauts, six NASA astronauts, one JAXA astronaut.
