Soyuz-2.1b booster with satellites was successfully launched from Plesetsk launchsite on December 03 at 04.14, Moscow time.

Fregat upper stage inserted into the orbit Gonets-M communication satellite and another space device for Russian military department’ needs. Ordering party of the first one as already took over the control of the satellite, the second one was given a number Kosmos-2548, its onboard systems are operating nominally and ground-based specialists have traced stable connection with it.

It was the sixth Soyuz-2 booster launched from Plesetsk this year. The previous launch was successfully performed on October 25.

Gonets is a Russian low-orbit mobile satellite communications system designed for global data exchange with mobile and stationary objects.
