Preparation works for the launch of Proton-M booster with Briz-M upper stage and Luch telecommunication satellite are under way at Baikonur spaceport.

Yesterday evening Khrunichev State Research and Production space centre and Yuzhny space centre operational crews finished assembling the space rocket; space head consisting of Luch space device placed under nose fairing and Briz-M upper stage was docked with Proton-M booster.

Today space industry specialists started testing the assembled rocket and space device, upper stage and booster control systems interacting.

Upon completion of the testing the booster will be transported to the fuel service area where Briz-M upper stage low pressure tanks will be filled with propellant components.
