Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed the hope for future cooperation with International Committee on Space Research (COSPAR).

On Friday, April 11 Vladimir Putin had a meeting with COSPAR President Giovanni Bignani in Moscow Museum of Cosmonautics.

“The organization you represent is one of the most authoritative in the field of space exploration cooperation. COSPAR involves dozens of countries and 13 international organizations; we hope that Russia will go on working efficiently, supporting all your colleagues both Russian and representing any other counties in your hard and interesting work”.

Bignani thanked Putin for support Russia gives to the Committee. “As you know the General Assembly of our Committee will be held in Moscow this August”, – Bignani stated. According to him it is the second time the Assembly takes place in Russia. First time it was in Leningrad in 1970.
Bignani also thanked Putin personally for supporting young specialists.”In the course of preparations for the Assembly you’ve mentioned there appeared lots of young scientists from different countries and they are getting ready for the trip in terms of the science. It will obviously give a great impulse to the development of this important and interesting field”, – Russian President replied.
