Egyptian EgyptSat-2 (previously named MisrSat-2, E-Star) Earth remote sensing satellite launched from Baikonur spaceport with the help of Soyuz-U separated from the booster.

The launch took place at 20.20 Moscow time. The satellite successfully separated from the booster, – the spokesman reported.

Egyptian space device was designed and manufactured by Russian RSC Energia. While designing the satellite universal unpressurized space platform was used on the basis of this platform Yamal-100 series satellites was made earlier.

EgyptSat-2 is the second Egyptian satellite aimed at high resolution Earth remote sensing. The satellite will receive the pictures of the Earth in visible and infrared range in panchromatic and multispectral modes.
