Following the results of examination trainings State Commission approved the main crew of new ISS mission, – State Commission representative reoirted on Thursday.

The main crew comprises Roscosmos cosmonaut Maksim Surayev, NASA astronaut Reid Wiseman and ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst. The back-up crew consists of Roscosmos cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, ESA astronaut Samantha Christoforetti and NASA astronaut Terry Virts.

The day before both crews successfully finished preflight examination trainings in GCTC. The main crew got the excellent mark while the back-up crew’s actions were  scored with 4.5 poins.

“The main crew is approved, Soyuz TMA-13M launch is scheduled for May 28 and will take place from Baikonur spaceport’, – the spokesman added.
