The first launch of test light Angara booster from Plesetsk spaceport is planned for June 25, 2014.

“Angara” is a new generation of module boosters with kerosene thrusters. Angara series includes light, medium and heavy boosters with carrying capacity from 3,8 to 35 tons.

The booster is developed and manufactured by Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Centre.

It will be the first time boosters of different classes are launched from one launching complex. At the present time boosters of different classes are launched from different launchpads.

Angara differs from the other boosters since it uses environmentally friendly kerosene propellant.

The development of Angara complex is of vital importance for our country. The works on constructing infrastructure objects for Angara launch and prelaunch preparations are being accomplished in the framework of Russian Federal space program.
