Soviet space device Kosmos-1151 was deorbited and burned in the dense atmosphere, Russian Aerospace Defence Troops representative Colonel Alexey Zolotukhin reported on Tuesday.

Soviet space device Kosmos-1151 was launched from Plesetsk spaceport with the help of Cyclone-3 booster on January 23, 1980. The satellite was active on the orbit for half a year.

“After we have analyzed the information we determined that Kosmos-1151 space device is not on the orbit anymore”, – Zolotukhin stated.

According to the specialists the fragments of the device burned in the dense atmosphere above the Antarctic region.
