Pilot model of new intercontinental ballistic missile was successfully launched from Kapustin Yar launch site

The test launch of new intercontinental ballistic missile was successfully carried out from Kapustin Yar rocket launching site in the evening on June 6, 2013. Russian Ministry of Defense press office reported.

At 21.45 Moscow time on June 6, 2013 Strategic Rocket Forces operational crew successfully launched pilot model of intercontinental ballistic missile from mobile launcher of Kapustin Yar state central launch site in Arkhangelsk region.

The tasks of the launch were to confirm the conformity of rocket complex and all its elements characteristics, given in military operational requirement, to confirm performance data of the rocket and rocket complex equipment, to confirm the reliability of rocket complex operation experimentally.
