Italian woman-astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti bet continuous space flight duration record among women, – European Space Agency reports.

“Since June 6, 14.21 GMT (17.21, Moscow time) ESA astronauts Samantha Cristoforetti is a record-holder in the duration of continuous space mission among women-cosmonauts”.

Earlier it was NASA astronaut Sunita Williams who spent 195 days onboard the ISS. Sunita still remains the record-holder in the quantity of spacewalks performed. She has performed 7 spacewalks inckluding the longest one performed by a woman-cosmonaut lasting for 50 hours 40 minutes.

42/43 ISS mission crew landing postponed because of Progress M-27M cargo vehicle accident is scheduled for June 11. At the present time crew working onboard the station comprises Russian cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov, Gennady Padalka, Mikhail Kprniyenko, Italian woman-astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti (ISA) and American astronauts Terry Virts and Scott Kelly (NASA).
