Russian prime and back-up crew members of ISS-49/50 mission passed preflight exams in GCTC.

Last week the crews successfully passed exams on Don-Soyuz and Soyuz-MS simulators and practiced operating procedures in case of off-nominal situations on Russian ISS segment simulator. Besides the cosmonauts also passed a series of medical testing and medical specialists recorded their parameters.

In the course of exams Sergey Ryzhikov, Andrei Borisenko, Alexandr Misurkin and Nickolay Tikhonov practiced Soyuz spacecraft approaching to the ISS and redocking, manual controlled descent, Progress cargo vehicle remote control and some scientific experiments onboard the station showing high professionalism and great knowledge.

Future mission commander Sergey Ryzhikov and flight engineer Andrei Borisenko also passed final training on preventive means onboard. GCTC medical department specialists taught the cosmonauts how to use the treadmill onboard the ISS transmitting the data to the Earth after exercises and how to work in loading suit.

Soyuz MS-02 spacecraft with Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov and Andrei Borisenko and NASA astronaut Robert Shane Kimbrough onboard will be launched from Baikonur launchsite in September this year.

Their back-up colleagues are Alexander Misurkin, Nickolay Tikhonov and  Mark Vande Hei.

This week GCTC will hold Medical Board meeting to analyze medical examination data of ISS-49/50 crews.
