Roskosmos cosmonauts Oleg Artemiev and Sergei Prokopiev on August 15, 2018 will make an exit to open space to conduct routine maintenance of the International Space Station (ISS), the installation of scientific equipment and experiments.

The output hatch of the docking compartment “Pirs” will open at 18.58 Moscow time.

The experts of the Flight Control Center and the Main Operational Management Group of the Russian segment of the ISS will provide support for the implementation of the program.

So, in accordance with the exit program, it is planned to collect material from the modules “Poisk” and “Pirs”, installation of scientific equipment “Ikarus”, launch of two nanosatellites “Tanyusha-YuZGU”, conducting panoramic television shootings in the format of the project “Spaces 360”, which Roskosmos performs together with RSC “Energia” and RT TV channel, as well as dismantling some equipment.

In addition, it is planned to launch two nanosatellites “SiriusSat”.

The estimated duration of the 45th scheduled operation of Russian cosmonauts in open space under the program of the Russian segment of the International Space Station will be 6 hours 10 minutes.

Oleg Artemyev and Sergei Prokopyev will perform their way out of the orbital station in the spacesuit of the new generation Orlan-MKS.

For Oleg Artemyev, this is the third spacewalk, Sergei Prokopiev goes beyond the International Space Station for the first time.
