The “Rokot” space rocket with the “Breeze-KM” upper stage, launched on November 30 from the Plesetsk cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region, successfully delivered a spacecraft block into orbit in the interests of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The launch was carried out by the crew of the Space Forces at 5 hours 27 minutes (Moscow time).

Prelaunch operations, launch and flight of the launch vehicle were carried out in the normal mode.

At the estimated time, the spacecraft was launched into the target orbit by the upper stage “Briz-KM” and accepted for control of ground-based facilities of the Russian Federation.

This is the second space launch using the “Rokot” launch vehicle in 2018.

The previous launch of “Rokot”, as a result of which the European remote sensing satellite “Sentinel-3b” was successfully launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome, took place in April of this year.

“Rokot” light class rocket was created at Khrunichev State Research and Production Center on the basis of an intercontinental ballistic missile RS-18 and is designed to launch spacecraft weighting up to 1.95 tons in low near-earth orbits in the framework of federal and commercial programs.

The use of the upper stage “Breeze-KM” as part of the “Rokot” rocket carrier allows the implementation of various payload launch systems, including the launching of two or more spacecrafts into one or more orbits.

The “Rokot” launch vehicle was launched for the first time from the Plesetsk cosmodrome on May 16, 2000.

Over 18 years of operation, “Rokot” put into orbit, approximately 70 spacecrafts for various purposes.

Today, the 29th launch of this carrier from the Plesetsk cosmodrome took place.
