On February 26, 2019, the main and backup crews of the “Soyuz MS-12” spacecraft arrived at the Baikonur cosmodrome to complete preparations for the flight.

At the airport, they were met by members of the Technical Management and the State Commission.

Roskosmos cosmonaut Alexey Ovchinin and NASA astronauts Nick Hague and Christina Koch are in the main crew of the ISS-59/60.

Their backups are Roskosmos cosmonaut Alexander Skvortsov, ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano and NASA astronaut Andrew Morgan.

The crew commanders reported on their readiness for pre-flight training and checking of the “Soyuz MS-12” spacecraft.

After the report to the management, the crews went to the Testing Training Complex of the GCTC, where they will have to undergo pre-flight training, classes and briefings.

Also daily cosmonauts and astronauts will be engaged in physical training and undergo medical examinations.

Tomorrow, on February 27, cosmonauts and astronauts will hold the first training session in the spacecraft – the “first fitting”.

Crews will need to work out the mechanism of actions on the places inside the ship, to study on-board documentation and perform a series of tests of on-board systems.

The launch of the “Soyuz-FG” launch vehicle with “Soyuz MS-12” spacecraft is scheduled for March 14, 2019 from the Baikonur cosmodrome.
