Today, on December 18, 2019, at 11:54 (Moscow time) from the launch pad of the Guiana Space Center, the “Soyuz-ST-A” launch vehicle with the “Fregat-M” upper stage and the COSMO-SG and CHEOPS European satellites and with three commercial satellites was successfully launched.

According to the flight diagram, 22 minutes after the launch, the COSMO-SG satellite separated from the upper stage.

The COSMO-SG satellite will ensure the uninterrupted operation of the COSMO SkyMed group of small satellites, that are already operating in orbit, observing the Mediterranean basin.

CHEOPS is a small satellite, designed to study exoplanets.
