On February 12, 2020, the commander of the “Soyuz MS-16” manned spacecraft, Nikolay Tikhonov, and the flight engineer of the ship, Andrey Babkin, performed examination training on the “Don- Soyuz” simulator for manual approaching and re-docking.

Each exam ticket has four modes.

It is noteworthy, that the software of a specialized simulator adapts to each new ship.

Today Russian members of the ISS-63 main crew demonstrated to the examination committee the steady skills of manual approaching and re-docking of the “Soyuz MS” spacecraft, which are necessary in the event of automation failure during the docking to the ISS, as well as the ability to re-dock.

The cosmonauts performed the test perfectly.

Next week they will have to pass another exam on the “Don-Soyuz” simulator – manual rapprochement.
