At the Baikonur Cosmodrome, a joint team of specialists from the RSC “Energia” and The Yuzhny Space Center (parts of Roscosmos State Corporation) completed the leak test of the “Soyuz MS-16” manned spacecraft in the vacuum chamber at the Assembly and Testing building of site № 254.

The test cycle in a vacuum chamber is the most objective method of monitoring requirements for the tightness of compartments and airborne systems in ground conditions.

The launch of the modernized “Soyuz-2.1a” launch vehicle with the “Soyuz MS-16” manned spacecraft to the International Space Station is scheduled for April 9, 2020 from site № 31 of the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

The main crew includes Roscosmos cosmonauts Anatoly Ivanishin, Ivan Wagner and NASA astronaut Christopher Cassidy, their backups are Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov, Andrey Babkin and NASA astronaut Stephen Bowen.
