Russia and India will soon determine which Russian-made equipment can be used in the Indian manned spacecraft “Gaganyaan”, Dmitry Loskutov, “Glavkosmos” Director General, commented in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“On October 25, 2019 Glavkosmos and the Center for Manned Space Flights of the Indian Space Research Organization have signed a contract on to assess the possibility of using the Russian-made flight equipment in life support and thermal regime systems of manned spacecraft “Gaganyaan” (“Sky Craft”). The implementation of this contract is coming to an end,” he said.

Earlier, in an interview with RIA Novosti, Sergey Pozdnyakov, Director General and Chief Designer of “Zvezda” Research and Production Enterprise, said that India had requested the space equipment from Russia for its national space mission. He did not specify which particular means were at stake of the negotiations. “Zvezda” enterprise develops spacesuits, life-support equipment, survival kits, shock-absorbing equipment and seat liners for cosmonauts.
