The preliminary date of the first launch of satellites of the Russian low-orbit communication system “Gonets” on the Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket has been determined, the launch is scheduled for September 24, a source in the rocket and space industry told.
“The planned launch of three Gonets-M satellites on September 24 will allow replacing spacecraft, whose active life is coming to an end, in order to maintain the constellation in the regular composition – 12 satellites, three satellites in four planes,” the agency’s source said.
This will be the next launch of a Russian launch vehicle.
