Anna Kikina left for the U.S. to continue training for her flight on the Crew Dragon

On Friday, July 29, 2022 Roscosmos cosmonaut Anna Kikina left for U.S. to continue training for the flight on the Crew Dragon to the International Space Station.

The duration of the next level of her training will be three weeks. Anna Kikina will spend the first two weeks at Johnson Space Center (Houston, USA). The training program in Houston will include Crew-5 training on the U.S. segment of the ISS simulator, including contingency procedures, extravehicular activity training and a meeting with Johnson Space Center leadership.

Anna Kikina is scheduled to train in Crew Dragon at Kennedy Space Center (Florida), on August 12 during which the crew will inspect their spacecraft, check its systems and “try on” the seats in their spacesuits.

The final level of Anna Kikina’s training session in the U.S. will be a week of training at the SpaceX base in Hawthorne (California), where she will continue to practice the various stages of flight as part of the crew of Crew-5.

The launch of the American manned spacecraft Crew Dragon, Crew-5 mission, whose crew for the first time includes cosmonaut Anna Kikina (Roscosmos), as well as NASA astronauts Nicole Mann and Josh Cassada and JAXA astronaut Koichi Wakata, scheduled no earlier than September 29, 2022 launch Falcon-9 booster from Kennedy Space Center.
