Today, on October 8, representatives of the technical management and the state commission at the Baikonur cosmodrome issued an opinion on the readiness of the "Soyuz MS-10" spacecraft and the "Soyuz-FG" launch vehicle to be exported and installed on launch complex. Removal of the launch vehicle with "Soyuz MS-10" spacecraft from the assembly and test complex and its installation on the launch pad of the Baikonur cosmodrome will be held tomorrow, October 9. The launch of the "Soyuz-FG" launch vehicle with "Soyuz MS-10" spacecraft with the crew of the next long-term expedition to the International Space Station is scheduled for October 11, 2018 from the Baikonur cosmodrome.

Today, on October 3, RSC “Energia” specialists at the Baikonur cosmodrome conducted a design inspection of the “Soyuz MS-10” spacecraft and performed technological operations to roll up the head fairing of the “Soyuz-FG” launch vehicle. The preparation of the spacecraft for launch under the International Space Station (ISS) program is carried out in the spacecraft installation and test building at the Baikonur cosmodrome.

The ceremony is a long-standing tradition and symbolizes the official start of the final stage of cosmonauts training for a manned flight. The planned duration of the flight is 187 days.

The flying time from the moment of spacecraft’s start to the moment of its docking to the orbital station equalled 3 hours and 40 minutes. "Progress MS-09" cargo spacecraft delivered to the International Space Station over two tons of cargo, including fuel, air, equipment for maintaining the station in workin order, care packages for the astronauts and crew life support instruments.

Specialists of “Roscosmos” enterprises at the Baikonur cosmodrome successfully performed operations for refueling the “Progress-MS-09” transport cargo vehicle with fuel components and compressed gases at the filling station. After refueling, the ship was delivered to the test facility of spacecraft and installed in a jig for the completion of the final training operations. The launch of the ”Progress-MS-09” cargo vehicle by the “Soyuz-2.1a” carrier rocket from the platform 31 of the Baikonur cosmodrome is scheduled for July 10, 2018.
