On 10 July 2018, at 4:31AM Moscow time, "Progress MS-09" cargo spacecraft has successfully docked the International Space Station. The flying time from the moment of spacecraft’s start to the moment of its docking to the orbital station equalled 3 hours and 40 minutes. "Progress MS-09" cargo spacecraft delivered to the International Space Station over two tons of cargo, including fuel, air, equipment for maintaining the station in workin order, care packages for the astronauts and crew life support instruments.

On June 21, 2018 in accordance with the program the International Space Station (ISS) orbit correction is scheduled.

Sergey Krikalev, Executive Director for Manned Space Programs of State Space Corporation “Roscosmos”, and Dr. Yusuf Namad Al Shaibini, General Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, signed an agreement to start providing services for a flight on the International Space Station (ISS) of a UAE cosmonaut. The signed agreement is preliminary, the final agreement will be concluded before the end of August this year. The subject of the main agreement and this preliminary signed agreement are services for the selection, training for the flight and flight of one UAE cosmonaut on the ISS.

The "Soyuz MS-09" spacecraft on June 8, 2018 successfully docked to the docking site of the research module "Rassvet" of the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS). On June 3, 2018, the members of the crew of the "Soyuz MS-07" spacecraft and the expeditions ISS-54/55 returned safely to Earth. The descent vehicle with the Roscosmos cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, NASA astronaut Scott Tingle and JAXA astronaut Norishige Kanai landed in the Kazakhstan at 15:39:42 Moscow time.

On May 29, 2018, as part of the prelaunch training program, the crews of “Soyuz MS-09” spacecraft conducted open training sessions attended by representatives of the media. Cosmonauts and astronauts of the main and backup crews Sergei Prokopiev, Oleg Kononenko, Alexander Gerst, Serena Aunon-Chancellor, Anne Macclein and David Saint-Jacques held training sessions at the multi-purpose stand for manual approach of the” Soyuz MS” spacecraft, training on the on-board documentation of the spacecraft , got training of the factors of space flight on special simulators and sports training.

On May 25 the delegation of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency led by JAXA President Hiroshi Yamakawa visited the Cosmonaut Training Center. Within the framework of the meeting with the head of GCTC, Hero of the Russian Federation, the honored test pilot of the Russian Federation Pavel Vlasov, further cooperation in the training of cosmonauts and astronauts in the crews was discussed. Hiroshi Yamakawa and Pavel Vlasov noted the need for full-fledged cooperation in the implementation of such a grandiose international project as the ISS.
