Today the Head of Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre Yuri Lonchakov celebrates his 50th Birthday. Yuri Lonchakov devoted many years of his life to space exploration. His efforts, courage, sense of purpose and love for his motherland helped him to become the cosmonaut and succeed in this profession.

Zvezda Reseach and Production Enterprise situated in Moscow region has almost completed the testing of new generation reusable EVA spacesuit.

Russian Cosmonauts ISS-41/42 mission commander Maksim Surayev and ISS-41/42 flight engineer Alexander Samokutyayev successfully performed the spacewalk and got beck to the ISS. The spacewalk lasted for 3 hours and 41 minutes. During the spacewalk Roscosmos cosmonauts demounted RK 21-8 radiometric complex , demounted 2ASF1-1 and 2ASF1-2 antennas from Poisk small research module and took samples from Pirs module hatch illuminator in the framework of Test space experiment. Besides the cosmonauts took pictures of the ISS outer surface milti layer isolation. The hatch of Pirs docking compartment was closed on October 22,2014 at 21.05, Moscow time. This spacewalk was the second one in the space career of both cosmonauts. Now Maksim Surayev’s total time of extravehicular activities amounts to 9 hours 25 minutes, while Alexander Samokutyayev’s – 10 hours 04 minutes.

ISS-41/42 mission commander Maksim Surayev and flight engineer Alexander Samokutyayev will perform the spacewalk on October 22, 2014 in accordance with the ISS flight schedule.

Roscosmos developed deep space and particularly Moon exploration program. Russie is to get back to the Moon by 2030.

On October 7, 2014, Reid Wiseman (NASA) and Alexander Gerst (ESA) successfully performed the spacewalk. They finished their EVA activities and returned to the ISS at 18:43 UTC (22:43, Moscow time).

At 06:11, Moscow time, on September 26 Soyuz TMA-14M spacecraft launched from Baikonur spaceport at 00:25, Moscow time, successfully docked with the ISS.

25th of July 2014 is the 30th anniversary of the first in the world space walk performed by a woman. Svetlana Savitskaya, Soviet cosmonaut, conducted and EVA on July 25, 1984.

Private American cargo vehicle Cygnus successfully docked with the harmony module with the help of manipulator.

According to the ISS flight program Russian ISS-40/41 crew members will perform a spacewalk on June 19. Pirs docking module hatch will be opened at 17.50, Moscow time.
