Three military space devices launched by Rokot booster and Briz-KM from Plesetsk spaceport on Wednesday were successfully orbited, – Russian Defense Ministry Aerospace Defense troops official representative colonel Dmitry Zenin reported.
It was the fourth Rokot booster launch this year.
“At 04.31 Moscow time on Wednesday, December 25, Rokot booster with military satellites was successfully launched by aerospace defense operational crews from #133 launchpad of Plesetsk spaceport”, – Zenin said pointing out that Rokot launch performed under the command of Aerospace Defense Commander major general Alexander Golovko.
At 04.34 Moscow time Rokot booster set Briz-M upper stage into the intermediate orbit, the satellites and the upper stage successfully separated from the booster.
At 06.16 the satellites were set into the operational orbit, now they are controlled by Russian Defense Ministry automated control complex.
Rokot booster was installed onto the launching pad on December 19, all preparation events went on nominally.
Rokot booster was designed on the basis of RS-18 intercontinental ballistic missile that is being discarded from service in the framework of conversion program. Rokot booster and Briz-KM upper stage were developed and designed by Khrunichev Centre.
