Soon  ISS-41/42 mission crews will have complex examination trainings, but before that they have to pass so called “standard flight day” training. According to the rules the crews practice full working day with nominal and off-nominal situations possible on Russian ISS segment simulator.

According to GCTC press office the main crew comprising Roscosmos cosmonauts Alexander Samokutyayev and Elena Serova, and NASA astronaut Barry Wilmore passed this training on August 28, In the course of the training they had to face several off-nominal situations and successfully coped with them.

The back-up crew including Gennady Padalka, Mikhail Korniyenko (Roscosmos)  and Scott Kelly (NASA) had the same training on Friday, August 29.

At the final stage of the training both crews had to cope with one of the most difficult and dangerous off-nominal situations onboard the ISS – depressurization of the segment.

Following standard flight day training results State Commission assessed the work of the crews. All training participants operated in accordance with the time schedule. As GCTC instructors report the cosmonauts are ready for complex examinational trainings scheduled for September 3-4, 2014.
