On December 23, 2014 at 08.57, Moscow time,  The first Angara-A5 heavy booster was successfully launched from Plesetsk spaceport.  It means that now Russia has new up-to-date ecologically friendly heavy booster, – Roscosmos Head Oleg Ostapenko stated.

The design of Angara rocket complex is one of the first priority directions for the development of  launch vehicles national system based on the Russian scientific and industrial potential. Angara booster series comprises light, medium and heavy booster of carrying capacity from 3,8 to 35 tons. The booster is designed and manufactured by Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Centre. “ I congratulate all those who took part in this launch and development of this rocket  – designers, engineers, workers, military officers. Thank you all for your selfless work, – Ostapenko added.

The works on ground facilities construction and preparations for  Angara booster launch are carried out in the framework of Federal Space Program.
