Steering engine of Proton-M 3rd stage failed because of excessive vibration loads, – Roscosmos Head Igor Komarov reported.

The reason of Proton-M off-nominal flight was the 3rd stage steering engine failure caused by excessive vibration loads”, – he stated.

The failure is of constructive nature, – Komarov underlined.

Taking into consideration Proton-M booster accident Roscosmos is going to take disciplinary and administrative measures .

“Disciplinary and administrative measures will be taken, then the decisions are made we will let you knom, – Agency Head added.

According to him those measures being developed at the present time will enable to launch Proton boosters without any accidents in the nearest future.
