Russian ISS crew members Fyodor Yurchikhin and Alexander Misurkin are preparing for extravehicular operations.According to the schedule ISS hatch will be opened on June 24 at 17.35 Moscow time. The operations are to be finished by 23.35.

The cosmonauts have to replace one of the coolant flow regulator panels on “Zarya” module . Such replacement operation was carried out for the first time in 2004. Crew members will also disassemble Photon-Gamma equipment installed onboard the ISS in 2007.

Besides Fyodor Yurchikhin and Alexander Misurkin will sample station coating to analyze contamination level and remove the panel installed in the framework of “Endurance” experiment by Pavel Vinogradov in April.

Photon-Gamma equipment was installed in the framework of “Molnia-Gamma” experiment aimed to explore gamma-ray bursts and optical radiation under conditions of thunderstorm activity in order to confirm the nature of such discharges as “Jets” and “Sprites”.

Another experiment called “Endurance” was to enable the specialists to determine the impact of various space factors on such characteristics as weariness, material durability and deformation, – Interfax reports.
