In 2016 the first spacewalk in the framework of Russian Program is planned for February 3, – Mission Control Centre representative reported.

“First spacewalk from Russian Pirs module is scheduled for February 3 and will be performed by Yuri Malenchenko and Sergey Volkov. EVA program is being discussed at the present time”, – the spokesman stated.

In its turn NASA reports that first EVA according to the American program will take place on January 15. NASA astronaut Tim Kopra and ESA astronaut Tim Peake will replace voltage stabilizer that failed November last year causing malfunction of one of eight ISS power supply channels.

For British astronaut Tim Peake it will be the first EVA, American astronaut Tim Kopra will work in the open space for the third time.
