According to Khrunichev Centre Deputy Director Alexander Medvedev financing the development of new Phoenix booster with carrying capacity from 9 to 15 tons will start in 2018.

“Financing will start in 2018. All enterprises are working developing their own variants. I know that RSC Energia is also preparing a project. New booster’s carrying capacity is to be from 9 to 15 tons”, – Medvedev said.

As Roscosmos Head Igor Komarov reported in March Phoenix medium-booster is to be ready by 2025. In the future Phoenix may be used at the first stage for new super heavy rocket being developed, – Vice Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin pointed out.
