The launch of Proton-M booster with American EchoStar telecommunication satellite is scheduled for August 2016, – Khrunichev Centre representative reported.

For the moment 5 EchoStar satellites have been launched with the help of Proton boosters. The previous launch was performed in November 2012. That time Briz-M upper stage successfully orbited American telecommunication satellite EchoStar-16 launched with the help of Proton booster from Baikonur spaceport.

International Launch Services Company (ILS) has an exclusive right for marketing and commercial use of Russian Proton heavy booster. The majority shares of ILS holds Russian Khrunichev centre.
