The crew members of the “Soyuz MS-09” spaceship, undocked today from the International Space Station (ISS), returned safely to Earth.

The landing module with Roskosmos cosmonaut Sergey Prokopiev, ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst and NASA astronaut Serena Aunon-Chancellor landed in the Kazakhstan on December 20, 2018 at 8:02 (Moscow time).

During all operations to return the crew, the commander of the ship, Sergei Prokopiev, used a duplicate communication system of his spacesuit for negotiations with the Earth.

In parallel with Sergei Prokopiev, a flight engineer-1, ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst, reported on the landing process.

All operations on descent from orbit and landing were carried out regularly.

The health of the crew members, returned to Earth, is good.

The duration of stay in the space flight of the crew of the long expedition ISS-56/57 was 197 days.

“Soyuz MS-09” spacecraft has been a part of the ISS since June 8, 2018.

During their stay on the International Space Station, the crew carried out a program of applied research and experiments under the program of a long expedition, supported the performance of the ISS, and carried out work on equipping it with equipment, delivered by cargo ships.
