Progress M-20M cargo vehicle successfully docked to the ISS on Sunday delivered to the orbit equipment necessary to repair American EMU (Extravehicular Mobility Unit), spacesuit, – Spaceflight101 webpage reports.

Christopher’s Cassidy and Luca’s Parmitano extravehicular activities on July 16, 2013 were cut short because of the water leak in Parmitano’s spacesuit. The astronaut successfully returned back to the American ISS segment. The specialists brought forward two possible versions of this of-nominal situation: water leak in spacesuit water cooling system or fluid leak in balloon with water the cosmonauts drink during their extravehicular activities. As NASA stated they hope to find out the cause of spacesuit defect, the results of investigation still aren’t published.

“The equipment and tools for spacesuit maintenance was put inside Progress cargo vehicle short before the lift-off. This dangerous water leak problem in American spacesuit is to be isolated and eliminated on the orbit to exclude the possibility of such problem arising in other EMU spacesuits.

Progress M-20M flied to the ISS in accordance with the short 6 hour scheme. Russian cargo space vehicle delivered to the ISS propellant components, oxygen, equipment for scientific experiments, health care aid, foodstuffs, water in Rodnik system tanks, books, presents and other packages for the ISS crew. All this weights about 2,4 tons.
