The management of the GCTC, under the leadership of the head of the Center Pavel Vlasov, met with the delegation of the Moscow Aviation Institute (National Research Institute) (MAI) under the leadership of Rector Mikhail Pogosyan to discuss the possibilities and areas for further cooperation.

The main objective of the meeting held in the GCTC was to increase the level of training, conduct joint research and improve the training and test base.

As an introductory part for representatives of the Moscow Aviation Institute, a tour of the technical territory of the Center was organized.

The simulators of the Russian segment of the ISS, Soyuz spacecraft, centrifuges, the Exit-2 simulator were presented to the guests.

And in the Space Center they had the opportunity to personally try to perform a series of manipulations in gloves for open space activity under pressure in order to understand how cosmonauts work in open space.

On the meeting was discussed the possibility of more active participation of the GCTC in the process of theoretical and practical training of the MAI students.

In addition to the standards for teaching students and graduate students, on the meeting the parties talked about improving the effectiveness of the system of continuing professional education.

Namely, the possibility of practical training for the MAI staff in the GCTC and the advanced training of the staff of the Center at the Institute.

As a result of the meeting, it was decided to establish working groups for the development of a “roadmap” of cooperation.

MAI is a leader among civilian universities in the number of graduates, who have become cosmonauts and specialists in the rocket and space industry.

With close cooperation between the Center and the Moscow Aviation Institute, potential cosmonauts will be able to obtain even more professional theoretical training and effectively apply their knowledge on practice.
