On June 27, 2019, in the GCTC the complex examination and training sessions of the main and backup crews of the 60/61long expedition to the ISS were completed.

The main crew of the ISS-60/61 ( cosmonaut Alexander Skvortsov, astronauts Luca Parmitano and Andrew Morgan) passed the exam on the simulator of the “Soyuz” spacecraft.

During the exam, the GCTC instructors simulated a number of abnormal situations, that needed to be detected and eliminated during the training.

At the same time, on the simulators of the Russian segment of the ISS, the backup crew (Sergey Ryzhikov, Thomas Marshburne and Soichi Noguchi) coped with several abnormal situations at the station and eliminated the emergency one.

At the end of the complex examination session it’s results were studied and the members of the examination committee highly appreciated the work of the crews, noting the professionalism, solid theoretical knowledge and practical skills of all crew members.

After the end of the training, the crews thanked the GCTC instructors for their excellent training, as well as for their support throughout the “space session”.

On June 28 at the GCTC will be a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission, which will evaluate the results of complex examinations and will decide on the further steps of the crew preparation for space flight.

After that, a pre-flight press conference will be held with the participation of the main and backup crews of the ISS-60/61.

Crews departure to Baikonur is scheduled for July 4th.
