According to RIA news agency today, on August 24, the “Soyuz MS-14” spacecraft with the “Fedor” robot on board could not dock with the ISS at the scheduled time.

The ship approached station at 99 meters, hovered, and then began to retreat to a safe distance of 279 meters.

According to the source of RIA in the space and rocket industry, the cause of the failure could be a malfunction in the “Kurs” docking system of the spacecraft.

The members of the state commission for the flight of the “Soyuz MS-14”, who were present at the docking, began a meeting in the Mission control Center.

Later it became known, that the “Soyuz MS-14” will once again try to dock to the ISS on the morning of August 26.

Until then, the ship will be at a safe distance from the station.

According to the Roscosmos, the situation with the ship is safe for the ISS crew.

The “Soyuz-2.1a” launch vehicle with the “Soyuz MS-14” spacecraft was launched from Baikonur on the morning of August 22.

This is the first launch of a new rocket, which should replace “Soyuz-FG”.

In addition, this is the first launch of a manned spacecraft without a crew in more than 30 years.

The only “cosmonaut” on board is the robot “Fedor”.

It was planned, that he will work on the ISS for 14 days.
