In the Assembly and Testing building of site № 254 of the Baikonur cosmodrome, employees of the RSC “Energia” (part of the Roscosmos State Corporation) and other specialized enterprises of Roscosmos continue to work with the “Soyuz MS-15” spacecraft.
Today, on September 5, 2019, a test of the solar panels of the spacecraft was carried out.
A set of works to test solar panels includes the opening of the stand, where the spacecraft is installed, the removal of protective panels from the solar panels and their disclosure, after which special lighting devices irradiate the solar panels.
At the end of the tests, the solar panels were folded and closed again with protective panels.
The launch of the “Soyuz-FG” launch vehicle with the “Soyuz MS-15” spacecraft is scheduled for September 25, 2019 from the Gagarin launch pad of the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
The main crew includes cosmonaut Oleg Skrypochka, astronaut Jessica Meir and a spaceflight participant from the UAE, Hazza Al Mansouri.
Their backups are cosmonaut Sergey Ryzhikov, astronaut Thomas Marshburn and space flight participant from the UAE Sultan Al Neyadi.
