The first new generation Aist-2 small satellite is to be created in 2015,  Samara Progress Central Assembly and Design Engineering Bureau reports, who will develop this satellite.

We held Science and Engineering Board meeting in accordance with the results of Aist-2 small space device concept design development and perspective nanosatellites of CubeSat series creation. The participants of the meeting announced that the are ready to do their best to finish first Aist-2 space device by 2015. Aist-2 concept project was developed by Progress bureau together with Samara State Aerospace university and Samar State university (in terms of scientific equipment) and Volga State Telecommunication university (in terms of hi-technology radio location equipment). The satellite is designed to solve technological and experimental tasks for new scientific facilities and supporting system and software practicing and certification.

Infrared range equipment of Aist-2 satellite with microbolometric photo detectors that do not require cooling will enable to make shots at night bit to practice small fire seats detection techniques.

Aist-2 space device turns out to be complex and very interesting since it consists of a wide range of equipment solving different tasks. Thus Volga State telecommunication institute develops unique space locator for the satellite able to operate in VHF-range and giving new opportunities of monitoring from space: high frequency of the shooting in TV mode, subsurface sensing and etc.
