From the territory of the Lavochkin NPO (part of Roscosmos State Corporation) 3 containers were dispatched with “Fregat-M” upper stages.

On September 19, 2019, products were delivered by flight to the Krainy airfield, serving the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

As part of the “Soyuz-2” launch vehicle, the “Fregat-M” upper stages will provide launching of spacecrafts of the British OneWeb satellite system.

Their first launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome is planned for the fourth quarter of 2019.

In June 2015, Roscosmos State Corporation signed a contract with Arianespace and OneWeb for the 21 commercial launch of 672 communication satellites of the OneWeb space system on “Soyuz-2” launch vehicles with upper stages of the “Fregat” family from Baikonur, Vostochny and Guiana Space Center cosmodromes.

It is planned, that due to the full coverage of the Earth’s surface, the orbital group of OneWeb communication satellites will allow users around the world to provide broadband Internet access.

The creation of the “Fregat” upper stage allowed Russia to significantly strengthen and expand its position in the international market for the provision of spacecraft launch services.

Since 2000, 78 launches of “Fregat” upper stages of various modifications from 4 cosmodromes (Baikonur, Plesetsk, Vostochny, Guiana Space Center) have been performed.
