The cosmonauts will be having water survival trainings on the basis of # 179 Ministry of Emergency Situations Centre (situated in Noginsk city, Moscow region) from June 23 to July 3, 2014.

Four crews going to the ISS in 2015-2016 will take part in these trainings.  Preparation for the trainings are provided by training crews comprising instructors, doctors, psychologists, divers,  interpreters and other GCTC specialists as well as NASA, ESA and JAXA representatives. The cosmonauts completed a theoretical course before starting training program.

This week the following crews started trainings: ISS-45/46 ( Sergey Volkov, Roscosmos, Andreas Mogensen  and Thomas Pesquet, ESA) and ISS-47/48 ( Alexey Ovchinin and Oleg Skrypochka, Roscosmos, Geffrey Williams, NASA). Next week ISS-46/47 astronauts Timothy Kopra (NASA) and Timothe Peake (ESA) and ISS-48/49 crew made up of Anatoly Ivanishin (Roscosmos) Takui Onishi (Jaxa) and Kathleen Rubens (NASA) will have their trainings.

On the first training day the crews passed the trainings on descent module escape.  Besides cosmonauts and astronauts performed equipment fit-check.   ISS-45/46 crew will pass so called dry training. According to the program the crew will practice descent module escape ashore while in the course of the real training ISS-47/47 crew is going to have the module will be placed in water.
