The first launch of Angara heavy booster with a satellite will take place in 2016-2017, Roscosmos head deputy Alexander Ivanov reported.

“First Angara boosters for satellite launches are already ordered. The first launch of Angara heavy booster with real space device is planned for 2016-2017”, – Ivanov stated.

Besides the first test sample of Angara heavy booster was sent from Khrunichev Centre plant to Plesetsk spaceport at night (from July 14 to July 15).

Angara series includes various boosters from light to heavy ones. On July 9, 2014 Aerospace Defence troops finally accomplished the first test launch of Angara-1.2PP light booster launch from Plesetsk spaceport.

The first launch of Angara was postponed several times.

Angara-A5 booster is designed in accordance with block and modular scheme with maximum unification of first and second stage blocks. For all stages ecologically friendly propellant components are used.
