“Ardbeg Scotch Whiskey sent to space 3 years ago will get back to the Earth this month”, – ScotlandNow reports.

The decision to send the beverage to the space was taken by Ardbeg executive managers.

Late 2011 Texas NanoRacks Company dealing with space exploration offered Ardberg to take part in experiment aimed to study gravitation impact on beverage maturation. Sending whiskey to the ISS the scientists wanted to learn how its components including barley alcohol, oak bark particles and chemical compounds known as terpenes will react under zero-g conditions.

Whiskey of the same composition is stored in Ardberg. When space whiskey lans scientists from texas laboratory will compare the two samples and draw adequate conclusions.

“It is a small step for man but a giant leap for whiskey. The scientists want to learn how the flavors behave under different gravitational conditions. The results may be a revolution n whiskey production”, – Ardbeg  spokesman reported.

Whiskey sent to space from Baikonur will return to the Earth on September 12. By that day the beverage will spant in space 1045 days.
