On September 11, at 06;23, Moscow time, descent module of Soyuz TMA-12M manned spacecraft  successfully landed to the south east of Jezqazğan town. The landing took place as planned.

ISS-39/40 crew returning to the Earth comprises spacecraft commander Alexander Skvortsov (Roscosmos), Oleg Artemyev (Roscosmos) and Steven Swanson (NASA). This flight was the second one for Alexander Skvortsov, the first one in Oleg Artemyev’s space carreer and the third for ISS-40 commander Steven Swanson.

ISS-40/41 crew made up of commander Maksim Surayev (Roscosmos) and flight engineers Reid Wiseman (NASA) and Alexander Gerst (ESA) continues working onboard the station.
