Roscosmos developed deep space and particularly Moon exploration program, – Roscosmos strategic planning office Director Yuri Makarov reported last Friday.

“In terms of technologies we are absolutely ready for this step, our industry is developed enough for deep space exploration and Moon in particular. We have prepared Deep Space Exploration program and will resent it soon, – Makarov stated.

According to him the program is very ambitious not only in terms of budget but tasks set as well. Moon exploration is supposed to be the core of the program.

As Makarov added that Vostochny spaceport being constructed in the Far East and boosters of heavy and super heavy class will be involved in this program.

As for the Moon program Russia plans to get back to the Moon by the end of the next decade, Institute for Space Explorations Head Lev Zeleny reported.

“We have elaborated a series of Moon missions. These are Moon-25, 26, 27, 28 and 29 projects. I am sure by the end of the next decade Russia will land on the moon”, – he stated.

The region of landing will be selected in accordance with the following criteria:  water available on the depth of 1,5 m and direct vision of Earth.

Most landing regions are focused on the South pole of the Moon, – Zeleny specified.

According to him automatic stations will fly round the Moon several orbits before the landing itself.
