ISS-41/42 mission commander Maksim Surayev and flight engineer Alexander Samokutyayev will perform the spacewalk on October 22, 2014 in accordance with the ISS flight schedule.

The hatch of Pirs docking compartment is to be opened at 17.24, Moscow time.

The main tasks of the spacewalk are as follows:

–       To demount RK 21-8 radiometric complex;

–       To remove safety cover of Expose-R scientific equipment monoblock;

–       To demount 2ASF1-1 and 2ASF1-2 antennas from small research module -2;

–       In the framework of test space experiment the cosmonauts will take samples from the surface of VL-2 illuminator of Pirs docking compartment.

This spacewalk will be the 40th in the framework of Russian ISS program. Roscosmos cosmonauts are to spend about 6 hours in the outer space. Both Maksim Surayev and Alexander Samokutyayev have already worked in the outer space and this spacewalk will the second one in their space career.

The rest of the ISS-41/42 crew will support their colleagues from the inside if the station.
