Soyuz-2.1a medium booster with Meridian telecommunication satellite was launched from Plesetsk spaceport in Arkhangelsk region, Russian Ministry of Defence representative colonel Alexey Zolotukhin reported.

The booster was launched under the guidance of Aerospace Defence Troops commander Lieutenant General Alexander Golovko.

On Thirsday, October 30, 2014, at 04:43, Moscow time, Aerospace defence troops launching crew successfully launched Soyuz-2.1a medium booster with Meridian telecommunication space device from №43 launchpad of Plesetsk spaceport. The launch took place nominally”, – Zolotukhin stated.

At 04:51 Fregat upper stage successfully separated from the 3rd stage of t he booster.

It was the fourth Soyuz-2 booster launched by Aerospace defence troops from Plesetsk spaceport in 2014.
