The Date of Soyuz TMA-17M Launch Remains the Same

The launch of Soyuz TMA-17M spacecraft will be neither shifted nor postponed due to Progress insertion failure and will take place on May 26, as planned before, – spokesman for Rocket and Space industry reported.

“Launch date is likely to remain the same – May 26, since Soyuz TMA-17M manned spacecraft is launched with the help of Soyuz-FG booster, not by its modernized version – Soyuz-2.1a”, – he explained.

It was reported earlier that off-nominal situation with Progress M-27M could be caused by free running Soyuz-2.1a booster 3td stage engine.

Soyuz TMA-17M is to deliver to the ISS new crew comprising Oleg Kononenko (Roscosmos), Kimiya Yui (JAXA) and Kjell lindgren (NASA)
