Foreign-made compounds phase-out program for Russian Luna-25 researcher is complete, – Lavochkin Scientific Association representative reported at Le Bourget-2015 International Air show.

At Paris Air Show Lavochkin Association presented Luna-25 (Luna-Glob) space device mock-up that is according to Federal Space Program for 2016-2025 to start exploring the Moon. The device is going to land in the pole region at that while up to now all the rest devices were landing in the region of lunar equator.

“At the present time all import phase-out issues have been already settled and confirmed by the Board of General Designers and agreed with Federal Space Agency”, – said the spokesman answering a question about the correlation of Russian and foreign-made compounds in the device and import phase-out necessity.

Association representative specified that works on import-phase of space device compounds were accomplished in 2014.

“First of all it is radio complex for communication with the Earth including foreign-made electronic components”, – he explained.

Earlier Institute for Space Researches Director Lev Zeleny reported that there was a decision taken to reduce the quantity of equipment installed on Luna-25 device to ease its landing on Moon’s surface.

Luna-Glob (Luna-25) project is designed for complex explorations of Moon surface in near-pole region as well as for practicing soft landing.

It will also study the internal structure of the Moon and try to find any natural resources in the near-pole region and study space rays and electromagnetic emissions impact on the Moon’s surface.

Russian scientists consider the South pole of the Moon most interesting for exploration that is why “moon researcher” is to land there.
