Express-AM8 Put into Operation

Russian state operator Satellite Communications Company put Express-AM8 into operation.

“Upon completion of orbital testing Russian telecommunication satellite Express-AM8 was put into operation on December 1, 2015” –  says official report.

The satellite designed by Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems JSC was launched and orbited from Baikonur spaceport by Proton-M booster and DM-03 upper stage on September 14, 2015.

Express-AM8 is to provide telecommunication, broadcasting and internet access services for the territories of Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America in C- and Ku- range besides the satellite will provide telecommunication for sea vessels and other mobile units.

Putting Express-AM8 satellite into operation Russia completes implementation of federal target program on TV and radio broadcasting services development for 2009-2018 thus deploying stipulated orbital group of satellites.
